Main Vocabulary Progress Chat History
Description Description Description

Hello again! In this episode, we’d like to share our BETA web application designed to help children practice speaking and expand their vocabulary through natural conversation. KidAssist combines speech recognition with an AI agent to create an interactive learning environment that tracks progress and encourages daily practice.

Three Core Features

Hands-Free Speech Assistant

Desktop Mobile
Description Description

The assistant activates with a simple toggle. Once enabled, children can speak naturally while the system transcribes their words in real-time. The local AI agent processes each conversation and responds through both voice and text, allowing kids to see what they said alongside the assistant’s reply.

One big note: this hands-free speech assistant does not need to be repeatedly clicked, which simplifies the usage!

Currently, the system recognizes English speech. Support for Chinese and Indonesian languages is planned for 2026, making the platform accessible to multilingual families

Vocabulary Progress Tracking

Desktop Mobile
Description Description

The progress dashboard monitors three aspects of language development:

a. Daily New Words shows which words appeared in today’s conversations, complete with the original transcribed sentences for context.
b. New Words Learned displays vocabulary from the most recent session, including frequency counts for each word.
c. Previous Words maintains a comprehensive list of all spoken vocabulary to date.

Chat History

Every conversation is automatically organized by time. The system saves chat sessions hourly—only when conversations actually occur—so families can review what their child discussed throughout the day or week. This creates a practical record of speaking practice without manual logging.

Desktop Mobile
Description Description

This three features will help parents and educators spot patterns in vocabulary growth and identify areas where children are expanding their language use.

Who This Serves

KidAssist works for families looking to supplement language learning at home, educators seeking tools to monitor student speaking practice, and children who benefit from low-pressure conversation practice. The hands-free design means kids can focus on speaking rather than typing or navigating complex interfaces.

What’s Next

The application is available now for English speakers. As we add Chinese and Indonesian support next year, the platform will become a resource for families raising bilingual or multilingual children. You can try the web app to see how conversation-based learning fits into your child’s routine. The vocabulary tracker provides concrete data on progress, while the chat history offers insights into how speaking skills develop over time.

KidAssist runs locally with AI agent integration, ensuring conversations remain private while providing immediate feedback.
