Flash Summary
Yes! AI Agents can be used as stock assistants. However, please, please, do your own research, and then do the research more, so that your hard-earned money are invested in well-research sectors/companies that you are confident and know, and also to avoid speculation and uncertainty (Gharar and Maysir).
Introduction
TLDR -> AI Agents can make mistakes, so it’s best to use it as your assistant, not as the decision making. We will not be responsible for any mishap for your wrong interpretation based on this blog, and this blog is not to determine which stocks to buy, it is for research/assistant only.
As Large-Language Models AI Agent become more intelligent, many people are using it as trading/stock assistants, that helps in the quest of interpreting futures based on the current infos. However, how to do it in The Halal Way (permissible according to Islam)? To narrow down the scope a little, we will use four of the most popular AI Agents: ChatGPT-5, Claude Sonnet 4.5, Gemini 2.5 pro, and Perplexity Pro with Deepresearch.
Our Test
What Stocks Covered and What is the Question?

There are thousands, if not millions of stocks across the globe, which might not be cost effective for us to cover in this blog. However, since we focus on the “Halal way”, let’s focus on the 657 Halal stocks listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
And also, the question asked to the AI Agents are going to be the same as the following:
PDF of Halal Stock list is available here.
# (Attached halal stock list pdf above)
Prompt: based on the 2025 trend and the current stock in this list, which stock could possibly make big profit in 2026?
What ChatGPT-5 Says
ChatGPT-5’s complete explanation link in here.
Well regarded as the top Language Model of their time, ChatGPT continuously refine their LLM exploration into vast sectors, such as retail, banking, robotics etc. Hence, let’s hear what it says:

Perhaps I am not using the PRO function in here, but ChatGPT completely skip my IDX list and recommend NVIDIA (NVDA), AMD, or TESLA (TSLA) stocks instead. This seems to be a bit of a trend for me recently. Since ChatGPT is very good at general question and analysis, but fails on more complex/sensitive analytics like terminal debugging, localized suggestions for Indonesian language, or this question. Hence, sadly, there is no insight that can be retrieved in here.
What Claude Sonnet-4.5 Says
Claude Sonnet-4.5’s complete explanation link in here.
It is one of my favorite on coding and debugging stuffs! Claude AI Agent has been widely regarded as the go-to software related assistant or debugging for developers. Hence, it is not mistaken that they are quite good at more numeric stuff like stocks. Let’s see what they said :

- Mining & Mineral for EV Vehicles.
- Banking & Finance.
- Technology & Digital Economy.
- Consumer & Retail.
Seeing its reference from foregin websites, it could possibly be the worse performer aside from ChatGPT. The reason is that Claude’s reference could be biased by foreign news (FYI, it only included 1 local news) or might not represent on what is really happening in Indonesia.
Hmm, saying these four seem to be saying that the majority of the stocks are going to be profitable, if not making a big profit, which is too optimistic given the current economic instability (especially corruption) in Indonesia. However, Claude’s final summary gives quite a good hint about which sectors to go. For example, we are suggested to invest in Mining & Mineral sector for high risk-high return or Banking sector for balanced growth etc.

What Gemini 2.5-Pro Says
Gemini 2.5-Pro’s complete explanation link in here.
Backed by the Search Engine giant Google, Gemini is very good at creativity, albeit in our experience and many other users, it hallucinates a lot at coding or on some debugging productivity. However, it excels in the understanding of long context, as it is the first LLM to support 1 Millions of token! Hence, it should be quite capable to analyze the stock/potential profitability. Let’s hear what it says:

- Mining & Mineral.
- Infrastructure.
- Technology and Communication.
The cool thing about Gemini is that it reads from many Indonesia news and investing news channels. Hence, possible profitability could possibly align more realistically in here. However, there is not much reference by default to really convince you that they are onpoint or not.
What Perplexity Pro Says
Perplexity Pro’s complete explanation link in here.
Here we go, our favorite on research! This AI Agent tops it in terms of reference and good documentations. The reason is that we can based on their statement to their reference quite easily, and not guessing the AI Agent response on whether it is based on a factual thing backed by a reference, or just another hallucination of it. Let’s hear what it says:

- Mining & Mineral.
- Infrastructure.
- Sharia finance.
- Digital Infrastructure.
- Agriculture.
- Consumer & retail.
Wow, this list seem to be more diverse than Claude’s response. But wait, it is based on 29 source (30 with the stock list PDF) ranging from both local news, international news, government finance report, and even inveseting channels & apps! From this, we can see that it tries to really delve and see what are the topic in 2025 to determine what are most likely to be profitable in 2026. And from the summary, it is also seeing a good trend to grow in the aforementioned sectors given the profitability.

Disclaimer: other AI agents we mentioned above might excel in other things. This summary only shows that specific tasks might need specific AI Agent.
From our brief summary on this case, it seems that Perplexity Pro might be the most accountable in case that we really want to go into detail, or might research things that need to be referenced so that we don’t need to do self-exploration to validate the output suggestion of the AI Agent.
Thanks for reading until this point, but hold on a sec. If you’ve read until this point, it means that you might have decided which AI Agent to use to research the suitable stock. But if you take a look more detail on the response from them, you will notice that:
- All AI Agents are mostly searching for the possible profitable stocks from reputable reviews or news, not based on gradual news that lead to the AI Agent to conclude that it will be profitable due to improvements or opportunities in this or that.
- Until this point, if you have already decided stocks to invest in, you are basically a gambler, not an investor. As alluded in our intro, we hope that you will do waaaay more research before deciding on the stocks to invest your hard-earned money into. So, do your own homework.
More Research and Post-Note
In this section, we’ve decided to use Perplexity Pro as our stock assistant. Well then let’s narrow down.
After preliminary suggestions mentioned in the beginning, let’s ask deeper about which profitable stocks are safe and their company selling things as mentioned below:
which profitable stocks you mention above that are safe in case of global instability? and what do they mainly sell, and how's the management etc, is it good?
From its response, it seems that we are stuck to the Indonesian popular stocks:
- ANTAM (ANTM).

- Astra International Tbk (ASII).

- Telkom Indonesia Persero Tbk (TLKM).

From the summary, we can see that it tries to convince us by explaining why it picks the three stocks while explaining the strong points and resilients of them. And if force it to pick only one stock and explain the reason to choose it like below:
if I only want to choose one stock, which one will you choose? and why do you choose it?

then we are basically suggested to pick this government company / ANTM due to it selling criticial mining things (gold, nickel, etc). But again, this is just an example of a way to analyze profitable stock, and don’t forget to learn more detail, including their financial report!
Hope you enjoy the post shared in here and see you in the next post~
